Icon Las Olas is formerly the site of Hyde Park Market along the New River, and is undoubtedly the best location in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Take a stroll along the river on the boardwalks, or jog to the beach. This is a treat for Fort Lauderdale future residents. With amazing architectural designs, location, and unbelievable amenities, Icon Las Olas is definitively worthy of the hype it is generating. The north side of the building will be facing the Las Olas Boulevard. A public space and historic landmark will be on its East side and on the South side a breezy walkway connects all of the new waterfront condominiums and views to the newest neighboring buildings of downtown Fort Lauderdale.

This project was delayed for years because of legal strife over the proximity of the site to historic Stranahan House, one of the oldest structures in the area and a vestige of Fort Lauderdale's past.  The Stanahan House once served as a post office, bank, trading post, town hall and home to Frank Stranahan and Ivy Cromartie, two names synonomous to Fort Lauderdale’s history. Given the amount of legal delay that took place to get this project approved, it could possibly be the last luxury hi-rise condo we'll see in Fort Lauderdale's downtown for some time to come. 

When completed in 2008, the shape, location and size of this tower will certainly make it a visual icon to the City of Fort Lauderdale, in much the same way that the Arch symbolizes St. Louis and the Transamerica Tower symbolizes San Francisco, for generations to come. Such a distinctively shaped tower will add a new dimension of grace to the downtown skyline and the fashionable Las Olas Boulevard with 278 residences which will consist of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom condos ranging in size from 844 to 1925 sq. ft. The distinctive four-fronted, football shaped tower will also feature an oval infinity edge pool located on the 8th floor activities deck, a club/party room, fitness center, lush bamboo garden and soothing water fountains.  The ground floor level will showcase 15,000 sq. ft. of boutique shops with plans for a five star restaurant and sidewalk cafes.

Viewed from high above in the Icon, the colors of Las Olas seem more vivid, the landscape much more diverse, and the ocean a stone's throw away. Downtown Fort Lauderdale feels alive with art and culture. Walks along the New River intersect with upscale shopping and scintillating nightlife.
